Hand blown glass oil jugs with flower trail

Hand blown glass oil jugs with a striking spiral trail of colour overlaid with small flowers.

Each jug starts as clear tube, to which I apply layers of colour in a spiral trail, which are then twisted together to mix them a bit. I overlay the trail with little white flowers, creasing and pointing each petal. The jug is then blown into shape and a ring handle, which I prepare before starting the jug, added. I don’t use any moulds for this – the glass is blown using the heat of the torch and my hands to guide the shape.

These jugs work out around 13cm high, lovely decorative pieces for the table.
