Kale textured glass, black garlic stem

Kale textured glass with black garlic stem

Pictured with a handmade Brik pastry tart with red pepper, feta, leek and Jerusalem artichoke, a kale crisp and charred pickled cauliflower.

Kale leaves form the texture for the goblet of this glass, which I have paired with a sculptural black garlic stem, roots trailing off onto the foot. The photo gallery also shows the kale leaf texture in a glass with a kale green stem. This glass has an approximate capacity of 150ml and is approx. 17cm tall.

As with all my work, this glass is flameworked by hand using a gas-fired torch. It has been individually worked and shaped, meaning that every piece I make is slightly different and unique.
